Project: Tonsley TAFE – Roof Access Stair System Upgrade (South Australia)
Location: Tonsley, SA
Client: Ventia Australia
Client Need
The existing internal stair system used for roof access inside the Tonsley TAFE workshop was found to be non-compliant and unsafe for routine maintenance access. The client required a fully compliant roof access system to ensure safe roof access with integrated guardrails and a controlled access point.
Work Undertaken
Hallweld Safety supplied and installed a new engineered roof access stair system, designed to meet height-safety standards and ensure safe three-points-of-contact during ascent and descent.
Scope included:
- Installation of a new compliant stair system for internal roof access AS1657
- Guard rail installation at the first access point AS1657
- A lockable gate to restrict access to authorised personnel only AS1657
- Full compliance with Australian Standards and the South Australian WHS Regulations.
